Right from the start, the sales pressure was uncomfortable. I didn't even know enough to ask about the types of materials and construction techniques his company would use. The lack of a real roof inspection bothered me. I'd never even see the actual costs. I knew I was out of my league and falling into a trap. Then I called DaVinci Partners and everything changed completely. I met with proprietor Vince Calcagno. Mr. Calcagno started by explaining a few things to me from the start. I learned about the varieties and quality levels of different types of asphalt shingles. He discussed the various materials and techniques used for underlayments. He talked about renailing the roof deck and using valley pans instead of interweaving shingles. He showed how to improve attic circulation by converting the tiny roof vents to substantial ridge vents. Mr. Calcagno's goal was clear: to provide me the very best available roof within my needs and budget as well as the education to truly appreciate my decision. Remarkably, he demonstrated that the very best option was just incrementally more expensive than the most basic option. (The most basic option is what I'd have gotten with the rejected salesman, and I'd have never even known it!) Mr. Calcagno sent out an engineer to actually study my roof and used satellite-based imaging services to accurately measure its dimensions. It sounds unbelievable, but for all this he accomplished so much more than the other salesman had promised. I received the very best available fortified roofing system and still paid nothing out of pocket!
